Overall ranking

Best prop firms

There is no single best prop firm for every trader. The right one depends on what you trade, what you can spend and which rules your strategy can live with, so we do not reduce the 20 firms we track to a single score. Use this list as a starting point, then check each firm's price, drawdown model, payout terms and trading restrictions before you buy.

How to choose

What to check before you buy

Six things decide whether a firm suits you. Each is counted across the firms on this page, and most link to a list that narrows them down.

Cost

One-time evaluation fees start at $5 upfront for a $10K account, plus $79 after passing. 2 firms bill monthly instead, from $49 a month. Price only means something next to the account size and loss limits it buys, so compare funded accounts by size and price.

Drawdown

14 of 20 firms sell at least one programme with a static loss line, which never moves. At 6 firms, every programme uses a trailing loss line instead, which follows your account up as you make money. See the firms with a static drawdown.

Payout rules

Each firm's highest included profit split falls between 80% and 100%, and 12 firms pay weekly or faster on at least one programme. Check the first-payout wait and any cap on each withdrawal too: highest profit splits, fastest payouts.

Platforms and markets

MetaTrader 5 is offered by 14 firms, cTrader by 8 and TradingView by 8. On the futures side, Quantower is offered by 7 firms and Rithmic by 6. If your strategy lives on one platform, start there: MT5 prop firms, TradingView prop firms, Quantower prop firms, Rithmic prop firms. Beyond forex, 13 firms offer crypto, 19 commodities and 4 stocks: crypto prop firms, commodity prop firms, stock prop firms.

Trading restrictions

6 firms allow news trading without a blackout, and 6 allow EAs. 13 firms sell at least one programme with no consistency rule, which matters if your profit tends to come from a few big days: no consistency rule, news trading allowed.

Track record

Consider the firm's operating history alongside its rules, payout terms and trading restrictions. Published payout figures are worth checking too, and 10 of the 20 firms here publish them. How we research each firm.

Questions about this ranking

Can a firm pay to appear higher?

No. There are no paid or promoted slots and no manual reordering, and an affiliate arrangement never changes which firms appear or where.

Which prop firm is best for futures or forex?

It depends on the market you trade. The futures ranking covers the 8 firms that sell futures evaluations, and the forex and CFD ranking covers the 14 that sell forex or CFD programmes. Each lists only the programmes in its market, so the prices and rules shown are the ones you would actually buy.
