01

Overview

Key advantages

  • Static loss line on both challenges
  • First payout on demand, then weekly
  • Low 7.5% first-phase target on the 2-Step
  • Operating since 2021

Key disadvantages

  • Long and technical rulebook, including notional volume limits
  • Only self-built EAs allowed
  • News straddling prohibited

Our assessment

Static loss lines on both challenges and an on-demand first payout are genuine positives, and the 2-Step's 7.5% first target is lower than most of the two-step targets we track. The rulebook is long: notional volume limits, a floating drawdown threshold and scalping thresholds all apply, so read it before trading a style that sits near any of them.

Suitable for

  • Discretionary traders who want fast first payouts
  • Traders who prefer a static loss line

Less suitable if

  • You scalp with very short holds
  • You rely on a purchased EA

04

Consistency

The standard 1 Phase and 2 Phase challenges carry no consistency rule. Pro accounts add a weekly trade-volume consistency rule and a quarterly profit target.

News trading

Restricted

Trading news with a directional plan is allowed. News straddling - opposing positions placed just before a release to catch the spike - is prohibited.

EAs and algorithmic trading

Restricted

EAs you designed, customised or coded yourself are permitted. Purchased or mass-market plug-and-play EAs are not.

Weekend holding

Allowed

Weekend holding is allowed on the evaluation-based programmes; Instant Funding accounts need an add-on.

Overnight holding

Allowed

Positions may be held overnight. The only holding restriction in Finotive's Terms is the weekend rule for Instant Funding accounts, and the challenge accounts may hold over the weekend.

Copy trading

Copying from third parties, shared master accounts, signal providers or trading groups is prohibited.

Hedging

Restricted

Offsetting, hedged or closely correlated positions across accounts, used to manipulate drawdown, equity, exposure or payout eligibility, are prohibited.

Other restrictions worth knowing

  • Scalping is flagged when 40% or more of closed trades in a payout cycle last 120 seconds or less.
  • Accounts inactive for 30 consecutive days may be closed without refund.
