The basics
How funded trading accounts work
A funded trading account is rarely something you apply for. You buy an evaluation, usually called a prop firm challenge, trade it to a profit target inside its loss limits, and then trade the firm's account for a share of the profit. At many firms the funded account is itself simulated and pays real money; each firm page sets out the stages the firm publishes.
Evaluation programmes
You pay a fee, then trade to the target without breaking the loss limits. Break a hard limit and that attempt ends; pass and you move to the funded stage. 51 of the 59 programmes here work this way.
One-step
One phase and one target, from 4.5% to 12% across the 34 one-step programmes here, including those billed monthly. Quicker to pass, but 24 of them use a trailing loss line.
Two-step
Two phases: first-phase targets run from 6% to 10% and second-phase targets from 4% to 8%. Slower to pass, but 15 of the 16 two-step programmes here keep a static loss line.
Instant funding
No evaluation: you trade a funded account from day one. You pay for skipping it: at 5 of the 6 firms that also sell evaluations, an instant account costs more than the firm's cheapest evaluation of the same size. And 7 of the 8 instant programmes here cap how much of your profit a single day may make.
Futures evaluations
Mostly one phase: 17 of the 18 futures programmes here. Position size is capped by contracts rather than leverage, 13 use an end-of-day trailing loss line, 3 are billed monthly until you pass and 5 charge an activation fee on top.
By size and steps
One-step, two-step and instant accounts by size
Each page lines up every programme sold at one size and structure, and exists only where enough firms sell that combination. Every page carries its inclusion rule.

Funded account questions
How much does a funded trading account cost?
One-time evaluation fees start at $5 upfront for a $10K account, plus $79 after passing. At $100,000, published one-time prices run from $5 upfront, plus $569 after passing, to $2,800. Evaluations billed monthly start at $49 a month. The price follows the account size, the number of phases and the loss limits, so compare the same size and structure.
What is the difference between a firm and a challenge?
A firm sells one or more programmes, and each programme is sold at several account sizes. The thing you actually buy is a programme at a size, such as a $100K 2-step, and its rules can differ from the firm's other programmes. This page lists those purchasable units directly rather than the firms.
Which columns matter most?
Maximum loss, drawdown model and daily loss limit, in that order. They decide whether the account survives your normal trading. Price and profit split only matter once a programme has passed that test, because a 90% split on an account you cannot keep alive is worth nothing.
Is the profit-target-to-drawdown ratio worth comparing?
Yes, and it is more useful than either number alone. A 10% target with a 10% loss cap gives you the same room to be wrong as your reward; an 8% target with a 5% cap does not. Both figures are in the table so you can read them together.
